Bows and Bowls

Over the weekend Toby and I celebrated our engagement party with lots of VIP in our lives. (hence why I have been MIA over the last week)We were blessed with a Glorious day! Perfect for barefoot bowls, champagne (or beer) and good company. The theme was Bows (bows, bow ties or ties) and I think everyone participated!

Our Dessert table, for afternoon tea before the BBQ was put on by some wonderful people, my sister kadi, My gorgeous friend Mel and her hubby, Mum, Kadi's MIL, the ultra talented Casey, Nan and Toby and I.

In action, I admit I sucked at Bowling! But it was still lots of fun!

and our AMAZING cake made by my beautiful friend casey! She is sooooooo talented and it was delicious! It got and ohhhhhh from the audience! (I do't think she will be taking orders hehe)

I'll post more about it through the week, but want to do a shout out to all our friends and family for making it such a special event! We honestly had the best time! to be surrounded by so many loved ones is truly a blessing. We also want to say thanks for the amazingly generous gifts we received we were blown away!

Happy Valentines day Blog world

I hope you got to spend some quality time with the people you love. I'm currently watching TV with my fiance' we don't normally tend to celebrate and if we do it's only something little. I baked Toby one of my his favourites, flourless chocolate cake. It was quite sweet today at school seeing girls with single roses and stuffed teddys. 

I did order Toby one of these but it didn't arrive in time (I only ordered it last week it's my fault) I've loved them for ages and thought it would be the perfect valentines gift (with our names of course). You can get one here from miniturerhino

Back to Reality

So after a fantastic weekend in Sydney today reality struck, I wen't back to work! I actually wen't back on Friday but there wasn't any teaching done so it wasn't too bad, but honestly it wasn't bad today either! hopefully the rest of the week goes just as smoothly (keep your fingers crossed for me) 

I came home this afternoon to this:

Toby had left me Grouplove's CD "never trust a happy song" How sweet is my Fiance'. Its my biggest regret of last year (and only) not making the effort to see them at Splendour. Here's my Favourite song off the album. Hope it starts your week off nicely.

Another Weekend!

How was your weekend? 

Mine was Fab turned out to be a busy one yet again! Celebrated my sister nonie's (aka Ellise) 19th birthday Friday night. She travelled home from uni just for it and it was lovely to see her! The love our nieces showed her would have made her 5 hour drive well worth it! 

Saturday I had a lovely breakfast with some friends and listened to stories of travel, home decor, kids and life and even wen't on an adventure to pick up a Ben 10 cake. It was lovely. In the afternoon Toby and I went to the local coffee festival and brought coffee's and banana bread.

We then wen't to a trivia night. Sunday was spent catching up with more friends and lunch was with Jessica, Casey and my gorgeous niece Willow who is now 9 weeks old. She's growing up way to fast.

Toby humoured me Sunday afternoon by coming grocery shopping with me. I somehow managed to spend $100 more than usual though so I'm not sure if he should come all the time, but I do love the company! All in all a great weekend! I am one content lady. And today was not a bad Monday Either.

Loooong Weekend

Of all the long weekends I've had this must be the longest.... I don't remember there ever being a five day weekend. Since ANZAC day fell on Easter Monday we got an extra day off today and it was lovely. This long weekend falls at the end of the school holidays so for me it really does feel extra long. ANZAC day is special around here as well as it was my late Grandfather's birthday, he was also a world war two veteran and I miss him very much. Our weekend was spent visiting family, eating eggs, drawing a little, afternoon naps, going on a little picnic with the pups, catching up with a few special friends and alot of time was spent relaxing!

ANZAC day makes me think about how grateful I am to live in this beautiful Country and those that made the ultimate sacrifice to make it the way it is. It also makes me think about what else I am grateful for:

I am so very Spoilt

My Family and friends have really outdone themselves this year!
