Home

So I'm sitting at home on a Saturday evening and it got me thinking about my house,
it probably doesn't help that I have Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's song "Home" stuck in my head (it's just so catchy!). One of the reasons I started this blog was to document the renovations that were taking place, however they are on a bit of a standstill at the moment while we are saving for the grand job of re-piering our house, you've seen our new fence and vegetable patch but there are many other things that need to be done. Toby did do a little fix up in the bathroom today with re-sealing the tiles but thats not all that exciting. With all this said I really do love our house, some things I love about it include: the family connection, Toby's great Grandfather Built it (we had no idea), it's 99 year's old  (i think we may have a birthday party for it next year), it's location, the yard (and the puppies that live in it), the fruit tree's that are older than us, the arch in the hallway (even with it's chip), the high ceilings, the fireplaces, it's comfyness, our art and photo's on the walls, it's crack, it's potential, the sunroom and most of all that I get to share it with a beautiful boy,  it's definitely a home!

Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is wherever I’m with you
La la la la, take me Home
Baby, I’m coming Home

Loooong Weekend

Of all the long weekends I've had this must be the longest.... I don't remember there ever being a five day weekend. Since ANZAC day fell on Easter Monday we got an extra day off today and it was lovely. This long weekend falls at the end of the school holidays so for me it really does feel extra long. ANZAC day is special around here as well as it was my late Grandfather's birthday, he was also a world war two veteran and I miss him very much. Our weekend was spent visiting family, eating eggs, drawing a little, afternoon naps, going on a little picnic with the pups, catching up with a few special friends and alot of time was spent relaxing!

ANZAC day makes me think about how grateful I am to live in this beautiful Country and those that made the ultimate sacrifice to make it the way it is. It also makes me think about what else I am grateful for:
Toby, Family, Friends,
Pets, Education, Music, Books,
Handmade, Dreams, Coffee,
Cupcakes, Cardigans &

During high school my family spent every easter there so it was nice to head back (some 8 years later...eek) I somehow managed to do not alot, Toby spent alot of time fishing, these are some of the things we did get up to

Flying Kites

Read my 2 favourite magazines which conveniently came out while we were away

Built (and destroyed) sandcastles

Piggy Back rides on the beach at Sunset

Multiple trips to the park

It was lovely to hang out wih my family,
I'd say we'll be heading back up to visit them in our last few days off.

Girls Night In!

As the weather was completely rainy and miserable yesterday I as happy to be celebrating my good friend Liss's 26th Birthday In! She (like me) loves games, so a games night it was! We played my favourite, Absolute Balderdash, and a quick round of Uno.

Did I mention the amazing Roast she cooked us! It was magnificent! And her adorable kitten Roco kept us entertained he's a cutie!

Happy Birthday for Tuesday Liss xoxoxox

Fresh Flowers

Nothing beats having fresh flowers in the house!
We had heaps left over from the baby shower so I've had a week with these
beauties on my dining room table.

I just put a small bunch of Roses in a Grolsch bottle.
I like it when Toby occasionaly drinks Grolsch beer as I love the bottles.
Sadly Today I only have one mixed bunch left! Hopefully Toby will buy me some flowers soon (I'm not getting my hopes up)

What's your favourite type of flowers?
