Nat's Hen's weekend

Over the weekend I went to Sydney on a hen show for my friend Natalie (aka Nit)!
We spent two nights in the city to celebrate her last days as an un-married lady. The first night we spent dancing up a storm at the retro bar where they played 80's and 90's music (and a little earlier) it was a top night and Nat had a ball.

The next day we all got up (with slight hangovers) and caught a boat around Sydney Harbour stopping at a few pubs along the way. There was a slight mis-hap on the first arrival at Watsons Bay where we had to put on life jackets, but rest assured we got back on the boat.

and so did Elvis! Clearly Nat Thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had a blast dancing and drinking!

Can't wait for the wedding!

Girl's Weekend

Over the weekend I went to Sydney with two of my best friends Hayley and Peta, to see the stage production of Mary Poppins. Hayley and I left early Saturday and met Peta in Sydney. We spent the day shopping in the city, we also got Mecca Makeovers where I was introduced to my new favourite product facial serum. We then got ready and headed to Monkey magic in surrey hills for dinner before heading to the show. I did enjoy the production but I got a little dozy after a couple of wines and a cocktail...oops!

We were lucky enough to catch up with Our friends Ange and Mad at one of their local pubs before hitting the hay. The next morning we went to four ate six for the most amazing breakfast! Before heading home we visited Papier D'Amour in Double bay (an amazing stationary shop!) It was a really nice weekend that came and went so fast. I am looking forward to the next weekend as i'll be in sydney again then School holidays Yay!

Book Club Review

"Salem's Lot" by Stephen King and "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman

This weekend our bookclub met up for breakfast and reviewed the above 2 books.

As for Salems Lot I enjoyed this book, it was written in the 70's and its unlike my normal vampire books (trueblood and twilight) I felt more scared reading this book then those and really I suppose it's truer to what i think vampires would be like if they existed. It was quite a long book and I did get a little bored in the middle I did like how he wrote though. I might try another of his books in the future when i feel like being scared again, it didn't have the warm fuzzy feeling at the end and what I imagined of good conquering evil but I don't want to give too much away. (for some reason this ones not rated yet)

I can't really comment on stardust as I was a super big slacko and only read 50 pages but so far it starts before the movie does. I'm going to try and get it read this week before our next book ("The Group" by Kathy McCarthy) arrives in the mail.

We rated it 6.6/10

We also met up that evening to go and see "the Help" at the movies which we read back in April and really loved. I usually am always a tad disappointed with book/movie conversions but not at all with this movie I really LOVED it! It complimented the book in so many ways and included all the important parts without really missing anything! I cried more than once but It was great! Go and see it :)

Olive tree Markets

Have you been? I went to the Olive Tree markets on the weekend with Jessica and baby Willow and they were SO good! I hadn't been for around a year and it was their 3rd birthday! Even Willow enjoyed them...

They had lots of new stalls including a lady that sold the most amazing salted caramel macaroons! YUM! I think we will be making it a monthly date just for those macaroons. A girl that I went to school with had a stall selling prints of her artwork which I brought she is very talented and is also studying to be an art teacher like me! I also brought some cushions from now that's gorgeous which I love and have placed on my bed (they have brown velvet backing)

I found it funny that I brought cushions this week as my friend kelly blogged about being a cushionaholic which I think I may be bordering on, really though, I can think of worse things to be addicted to! Also here's looking at me kid talked about her fetish with vintage velvet cushions. What is your home decor addiction?
